Keeping Your Pool Clean with the 4 Basic Rules
Swimming in a clean pool. So nice! But how do you ensure that your swimming pool always remains in optimal condition? It is often thought that a pool vacuum cleaner is the only solution needed, but it is only one part! There are four basic rules that will help you keep your pool in top condition. If you follow these rules, you limit the chance of a dirty swimming pool.
1. Regular checking of the pool water:
Regular checks are important to keep the water in your swimming pool clean. At least once a week, but better once a day. Make sure you maintain the following values:

• Alkalinity (TA): between 100 and 150 ppm
• pH value: between 7.0 and 7.4
• Chlorine: between 1 and 2 ppm
It is important to test and adjust the pool water in this order.

2. Get the right chemicals:
If the test results differ from the recommended values, add the appropriate chemicals to bring the values back within the desired range. This is essential to keep your pool safe and clean.

3. Let your pool pump run sufficiently:
Clean pool water must circulate so that it is properly filtered and the chemicals are effectively absorbed into the water. Run your pool pump for at least 4 to 8 hours per day. For optimal cleaning, pump the pool water completely at least twice a day, which amounts to 8 hours.

4. Cover the water when not in use:
Dirt, such as leaves and twigs, remains impervious to chemicals and the filter system. Therefore, cover your swimming pool when it is not in use to limit dirt. Any floating dirt can easily be removed after swimming with a scoop net, keeping your pool water fresh and clean.
